Wow. I didn't think I'd be missed to be honest.

I got myself a pretty damn intensive job. I've been working harder than I ever have done in my entire life. I've also recently moved in with my girlfriend, which is lovely but it's kicking my wallet in the balls.

So yeah... I've been working, sleeping, eating and struggling to afford running my damn car and a house.

Someone mentioned about a board upgrade in the thread that Pao posted. The story behind that is that the phpBB3 upgrade process is flaky as hell - as is our hosting. Three test upgrades all failed - there were missing users, missing posts, broken posts and all that kind of thing. I didn't want to risk leaving the main copy of the board upgraded and broken. I hope that the upgrade process has since improved and we can make another push at it - but it's worth remembering that we would loose all the styles (no more pink and green!) until I (or another willing party) port the styles to phpBB3.

Man you have my sympathy. I can't think of any man getting everything paid by his girlfriend. If I ever meet someone like this he'll definitely get his name written in my "Book of manly men".

Hello Big Tom. The work you've done here in the past has all been great and very well-appreciated. Please reinforce the board's or host's security or clean the database, so that the virus / data injection / malicious redirect issue that was plaguing the main Racer X site for months is removed. It was resident in the board code. That's probably what killed the server; some sort of hack. Beyond that... any upgrade is a good one.

I'm going to have a look at moving the board over to my server.
Our current web hosting is not all that hot really. It's slow and we have very little control over the server config.

I will keep you all updated here. If the board gets locked over the next couple of days - it's because I'm busy moving the database etc.

I will put in redirects so your bookmarks don't break.

Thank you Tom for everything and for filling us in. To everyone else I'm really glad I'm not the only one who misses this board when it's down. You wouldn't believe how many times I was doing something then decided to go search for a certain thread.. only to remember it's down. Man I love this place.
